What are you trying to promote?

The first thing you need to consider is what exactly are you wanting to publicise? It might seem obvious but it’s extremely important to give careful consideration to your target audience and what exactly you want to advertise before you start your design.  

Include a call to action

Whatever your design, you must include a call to action (CTA). You need to ensure customers understand what you want from them, whether it’s to visit your website or to give you a call. You can even include social media icons with your handle to find the latest discounts and special offers. Whatever you decide, ensure it is clear and concise for the audience to follow up directly.

Go for bold!

Consider your vehicle as a large poster. It needs to convey the right amount of information in a finite area and short space of time. Cramming too much information can become overwhelming and hard to follow. Keep the messaging simple and succinct. And make sure the font is clear and legible from a distance, and potentially at speed.

Be careful with imagery

Only use photos if they are a high enough resolution. A grainy or fuzzy image will diminish the impact you are trying to achieve and actually detract people from your offering. Where possible, stick to a clear logo or one well-placed high-resolution image to convey messaging. 

Keep it simple

Don’t be afraid to have space within your van wraps or car branding. With a range of different finishes available, sometimes, it’s better to let the wrap do the talking rather than the design/content itself. Plus, the use of space encourages the audience to focus on the brand message and CTA.
