Christmas graphics delivered with help from Santa!

On Saturday 16th December at the Oliver Hind Social Club in Sneinton, Nottingham a Christmas party was held for homeless children and their parents.  This event was arranged by Nottingham City Homes in conjunction with the Rotary Club of Nottingham to provide a little Christmas cheer to those less fortunate than ourselves.  Over 130 children under 10 years old received presents from Santa in an afternoon that included a square meal, a magic show and a trip through Santa’s Grotto as well as the usual party games.

Children ranged from local kids from families who have lost their homes for one reason or another to Ukrainian children who have just escaped a war zone.

John E Wright provided and installed the grotto which included foamex walls, an inside pop-up stand with a warming fireplace for the children to sit by with Santa, banners depicting snowy forests and a range of cutout accessories to create a winter wonderland.  All this was helped in part by the genuinely arctic weather of course!  Thanks also to the Oliver Hind Youth Club for lending their premises and for the warmth inside.
