During the early part of 2015 we have been involved in a number of creative projects for organisations in Nottingham, Leicester and Derby. The first of these to come to fruition is showing at the New Art Exchange in Hyson Green, Nottingham.
From the NAE website;
“In 2014 Hussain was commissioned by NAE to explore the socio-political context of its local neighbourhood. He spent his time exploring the streets and talking to those that live here. Hussain’s immediate observation was the incredible diversity of communities living in Hyson Green. Over time individuals from these communities volunteered to sit for a portrait, to share their reflections on the local area and the issues important to them.”

Working with the artist and curator of the exhibition over several months we agreed materials and processes, tested images for enlargement scales and supplied samples to ensure the final pieces met the exacting standards required for an event of this type.
The feature image (shown above) was produced on our VUTEk GS3250lx using Wall Wrap media and installed on site by our in house team. Whilst these types of processes are used primarily for commercial installations the combination of exceptional print quality and durable substrate make it wholly suitable for creative applications such as this.
Other materials used in the project include Arches Aquarelle textured stock as used in the text panels and Hahnemühle Photo Rag, an archival quality matt stock which is highly suited to exhibition standard print.
