Open_2013-8063

We are now a little over half way through the 2013 Nottingham Castle Open. With the Closing Party on Saturday the 9th of November, yesterday was an apt time to visit the exhibition and try to select a winner for the John E. Wright Prize.

This was no easy task given the high quality and huge diversity  of the works on display. The selectors had managed to bring together a coherent group of 31 artists out of the 333 who had applied. The works on display represent the broad contemporary practice undertaken by artists across the East Midlands.

This year the John E. Wright Prize will award £250.00 of fine art / photographic printing services to the winner. Our prize is intended to offer the winner the opportunity produce printed materials that support their endeavours without the distraction of budgetary constraint. In providing this prize in recent years we have been unfortunate to work with some very talented individuals and assist in the production of some wonderful works of art.

Our associations with the Nottingham Castle Open (and the other open submission exhibitions across the Midlands) have been beneficial to us by enabling our growing capabilities to be communicated to artists and exhibition organisers working in the Heritage and Cultural sectors.
