The consequences of the pandemic have been a tough time for those in the hospitality and catering sector. As premises now begin to open, it’s important to ensure that you have all the measures in place that are required to meet social distancing guidelines and to trade safely.

If you aren’t sure what items you may need to consider for your business, we’ve put together a list of solutions to the coronavirus signage problem from hand sanitising to social distancing signage.

External coronavirus signage

It is important to consider the social distancing signage you use before a customer has even entered your premises. Will you need to allow for a queue outside for example?

Floor graphics are an ideal way to show adequate distancing and can be used inside or outside your premises. Branded queue barriers are also helpful if you are expecting that customers will have to form a queue as they show ownership of the area and provide direction for customers.

A-frame boards and window graphics are perfect for use as a reminder of social distancing measures and to highlight any information regarding change sin service due to coronavirus, or for highlighting any special offers that you may wish to let your customers know about.

Hand sanitising

Hand sanitising is a promoted action to minimise the risk of the spread of coronavirus between staff and patrons alike. Hand sanitiser and hand santiser stands are now commonplace in many businesses.

Hand sanitser is best placed next to the entrance to your business and, if you have a large business at suitable areas throughout the main high traffic areas.

Internal coronavirus signage

Once your customers have entered your premises they may still need direction on distancing and any other new measures you have put into place to meet covid-19 guidelines. From one way systems to distancing between tables coronavirus signage such as posters and pull up banners can be very useful to direct and inform customers about what they need to do whilst on your premises.

Acrylic Screening

Many businesses are considering the use of transparent screening to protect staff from coronavirus, but also to provide screening between tables in their main restaurant or bar areas. Screening not only acts as protection but can also be used as a subtle coronavirus signage solution, showing customers the areas which they can and can’t access and enforcing social distancing in a subtle way.
